Real-time visualization of neuronal activity during perception of a swimming paramecium

A transgenic zebrafish larva expresses the calcium indicator GCaMP in the tectal neurons and a paramecium is swimming around the fish. Ca2+ transients in the tectum can be detected while the larva perceived the paramecium. Published in Current Biology, Muto et al. (www.cell.com
